Comments:

Thanks to Ken (K6TA) and Kay (K6KO) for hosting me in CQP for the fifth time.
As usual their hospitality and conversation (including a Friday night cog au
vin dinner and operating sandwiches, drinks and snacks) was outstanding! And
the station performed very well, in spite of my ripping it apart for my own
version of SO2R, leaving a real mess for Ken to rewire when I leave.
This was about a 10% improvement over last year, and a personal best for me,
though I'm not at all sure that the standings will look any different than
usual (at least for our NoCal bunch). Conditions were generally very good, and
it was fun to work lots of EUs and even some other DX (e.g., 9K2HN, V51L).
Congratulations are certainly due to N6TV for finding his microphone to operate
mixed-mode, and to OH6KZP for an outstanding rookie performance.
I was lucky to work a VE5 and one AK in the first few hours, but they ending
up being the only mults with only one Q. My last mult was NT, but I was able to
go to bed without mult anxiety, as VE8EV called me on 80 CW just before midnight
(and then for good measure on 80 phone a little later!). Thanks to all of you,
and to everyone else for all the Qs (particularly the serious out-of-Staters
that put a lot of effort into the contest).
  73, Andy, AE6Y
