Comments:
Just 20 hours invested this time as bands were not playing well at all. M-class
flares and lousy auroral paths made for terrible conditions, with 10M and 15M
virtually useless over the pole and not very good domestically either.
Mults were down by one-third from last year's totals, despite much more
searching this time. Biggest disappointments were 40M with lousy EU access and
10M with 100 fewer Qs and 30 fewer countries than last year.
No F, G or I stations on 20M -- an indicator of horrendous propagation.
80M was about the same as 2012, and less than half the Qs and mults of last
year.
Another disappointing contest weekend at what should be peak two of the solar
cycle. At least we won't have grown too accustomed to 10M by the time the
bottom falls out of this one.
Thanks to the Stateside ops who provided great pace during a few long runs.
They were the highlights of the contest here.
Must wonder about a few notable Eastern European stations who are consistently
20 over here but can't hear a thing in return.
Footswitch already put away. CW Sweepstakes next and I can hardly wait.
