Comments:
Congratulations to all of the multi multi contest teams operating in this
contest. The K3LR team is very fortunate to compete along side the top multi
multi stations in the USA and around the world.
This is what it is all about, enjoying your friends and operating the radio in
the CQWW phone contest. All of the bands were packed and we enjoyed some
amazing DX propagation. The MUF was very high!
Thanks to the contest ops who traveled long distances to operate at K3LR.
Sharing 48 hours in a small room full of great friends with HF radios -
enjoying
our radio hobby - this is what makes radio contesting THE BEST.
The highest hourly rate ever at K3LR happened Saturday morning on 10 meters
with K1AR and N3GJ operating - a 377 hour (and a 299 hour just before). That is
just unreal AMAZING from the USA! LU7DW worked some real magic on 10 meters as
well. 15 meters was very cool with K3UA, WM2H and N2IC piloting the new stacked
array on the run station. W5OV, K3LA and W2RQ did an outstanding job on 40
meters. It was neat to watch N2NT, DL1QQ and K1AR grind away on 20 meters to
another outstanding total band score. N5UM and DL1QQ pushed really hard on 80
meters with some great rates. TopBand maven N2NC hung tough and came away with
great numbers. A five band DXCC in one weekend by team K3LR!
The secret weapon at K3LR is Sal, WM2H who handled all of the chef duties and
motivation for the operators at K3LR - a 100% SUPER job Sal! And Sal operated
more in this contest than ever before at K3LR - 15 meters all night long.
Thanks to Dave, W9PA for all of his hard work and dedication to helping K3LR
always be ready - before, during and after the contest! Also thanks to Greg,
W8WWV for all of his guidance and help getting the antenna systems ready.
