Comments:

Portable QRP operation on Sunday afternoon from Holt Hill in Andover, Mass.
Weather was sunny, clear, dry, and 62F.

Station Equipment:
- Yaesu FT-817ND
- Elk 2M/440L5 portable log periodic antenna
- 1/2 wavelength 6m aluminum dipole, homemade

Perfect sunny and dry weather for a hike outdoors. Enjoyed a Sunday afternoon
picnic on the hilltop with the YL while I operated and she read her books.

No enhancement. No DX. 50 MHz behaved like 432 on Sunday. Since my 144/432
antenna is more directional with better gain than the 50 MHz dipole it was
often difficult to make initial contact on 6m and work up. It was easier
instead to initiate contact on 2m where I have more punch and then work down
and up.

Other plans and heavy rain locally precluded any opportunity for me to operate
portable QRP on Saturday.

Good exchanges with some favorite local multi-op club stations and the
single-op Mt. Wachusett expedition. Worked 6m, 2m, and 70cm with all. I had
only one 6m exchange with a non-expedition single-op. No casual contest
operating was heard. Very quiet line-of-sight-only contest.

Calling CQ went completely unanswered, even on 6.
