Comments:
First RTTY Contest. Built an FSK interface and installed N1MM+ when I needed to
access COM14. Had most of the weekend free for radio but still had some farm
work to tend. Oh, and the YL brought home a rescue horse on Saturday.
The TS-990 with 250Hz FSK filtering did a great job and the band scope set for
500Hz per division made it a breeze to find a run frequency.
The Alpha 91B ran well until a 15m trap on the old A3S started arcing at high
power. The amp simply tripped to standby, then recovered. It was only happy
below 500w on 15m, fine for 1.5KW on 20 & 10m.
The Murch tuner started arcing during an 80m run on Sunday morning. Never
warmed up a tuner before and it’s true what they say " one finds a
station’s weak links in a RTTY contest.
N1MM+ worked flawlessly yet is still a little rough around the edges.
There’s a lot more statistics reporting and it’s going to take some time to
learn. It’s late and I believe the DX & Zone numbers below are correct.
Thanks for the Q’s. Mark N4BCD
