Comments:
Thanks to all who dug my signal out of the mud. Some bands/freqs seemed very
busy, especially when I got down to 20m.
Still working on rather several receiver interference problem on this Orion
(I've had it a short while and am still learning how exotic this thing is. It
will be perfect when this LID operator figures everything out, but I'm still
hearing 'splatter' from as far away as 10-15 KHz, so you big guns really give
me fits. Ha!) I'll 'fligger' all this out, though. I'm not one to be accused
of being an appliance operator.
Enjoyed tripping along at 36 wpm, for the most part, and realizing that 99
percent of CWOps members have absolutely NO problem copying at that rate.
Biggest thrills: Working our buddies, Mike, F5IN, and good ole' Bert, F6HKA, on
20m. Thanks, guys, for making the trip across the pond so well. Strong sigs.
Biggest disappointment: Calling K6RB a whole buncha times on 20m and never
squeezing through the pileup to get him in my log on 20 today.
Hospitality Award goes to Bill Perkins, KC4D. I can't get over how profoundly
cordial Bill is EACH time we work. He must have studied under Larry (AKA
'Speedy'), K7SV. :-)
See y'all at 0300z. By the way, I know nobody is reading this...I enjoy
writing it FAR more than anybody cares to read my drivel. :-)
73 to all...
