Comments:

First HF operation from here at home in FL since April. Nice to be back in the
warmth at long last. The best news is that the noise problem that has plagued
me for far too long was absent all weekend.

Our opening to EU was much longer on Saturday, but the delayed opening on
Sunday was nearly the same strength and breadth once it finally opened.

EU was down 60% from last year, AS down 95% and NA down 32%.

With no Es on Saturday evening, there was little chance to work the eastern
population centers. This chart shows that W1/2/3/8/9 had only 180 total QSOs,
less than W7 - which is the least populated call area and not where you want
your RF to be concentrated.

Area QSOs
---- ----
 W0 126
 W1 40
 W2 24
 W3 31
 W4 163 (76 FL)
 W5 55
 W6 143
 W7 182
 W8 37
 W9 48

Never heard DC or DE (noted N3DXX was at P40S), but happy to work several AK
and hear several others (RIP KL7RA). Only mults heard and not worked were C3,
TK and XE/PUE. Neatest callers were from 7Z, V5, TF, FW and VP8, along with
the interesting VK2 LP. Just 5 XE.

Had 15 clock hours of 90+ QSOs last year and just 3 such hours this year.

Always great fun to say hello to friends near and far. Thanks to everyone who
made the effort to get on during the busy holiday season. Hopefully you all
heard lots of "OJ"s being exchanged - the FCG's on-the-air greeting
in memory of founder K4OJ (SK 2004).

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and a Happy, Healthy 2016!

President, Florida Contest Group since 1998
