Comments:

Band had more noise than usual. Couldn't figure out if it was local or coming
from a storm from the west. And, absorption seemed to be quite high, because I
couldn't get a "run" going until after about 0600Z. Gave up about
0700Z, got a few zzzz's. Came back about 1000Z but either absorption was high
again, or there weren't enough "raw meat" stations from which to
attract attention.

Don't think absorption was completely local - I could hear considerably better
than some others, and the longest path seemed less than previous years.

Thanks to those who "stuck with it" in copying my puny signal. I'm
not exactly spoofing when I describe my antenna as "being a few dB better
than a dummy load buried 6 feet under ground.

Hope to see you all on the CQ 160-Meter Contest, CW - 2200Z, Jan 29 to
2200Z,Jan 31, 2016. Lettuce prey to the sun gods, Arinna , Apollo, Freyr,
Garuda, Helios, Hepa, Arinna, Huitzilopochtli, Hvar Khshaita, Inti, Liza, Lugh,
Mithras, Re (or Ra), Amun Shemesh/Shepesh, Ugarit, Sol Invictus, Tonatiuh, Utu
(Shamash) that they smile kindly upon us and provide us with low ambient solar
noise, and great propagation.
