NOTE: Mults total includes the 5 I got from activating each grid.
General activity and conditions for 2M & up were pretty much normal.
Worked a few more stations and better DX to the east, so I think conditions
were a bit up in that direction. I tried operating from EN53 and EN63, which I
haven't done for years in the June contest. EN53 was pretty much a bust, but
EN63 worked out quite well. Planning to try EN63 again in the Sept contest.
Not enough time to go there in the UHF contest.
Now for a few words on assistance. I did some self spotting using APRS and the
W0UC text to Twitter feed. No obvious benefits from my side, but I would
appreciate an email reply from anyone who did find me using these self-spots.
I was able to make a few 2M "skeds" using phone calls. This worked
out much better. Once the 2M contact was made, we ran through all the bands we
had in common. I'll probably make more use of phone calls in the future,
especially to stations who are not likely to be looking in my direction.
