Comments:
We had a good time operating the Sweepstakes as a father/son team in the
multi-op category for the first time. We cooperated pretty well and tried our
best. Wish my dad (the original N5DX) had lived long enough to see his
grandson in action.
We had at least two directional antennas with power split on 80 through 15.
Congratulations to all those who had fun and particularly to those single
operators who without the RBN and any assistance are able to compete and
usually win over those with all the tools available.
As usual Sunday was a grind with few people to work. Maybe this should be a 24
hour contest. Those who are operating 24 hours in a serious mode aren't getting
a lot of sleep as it is. Maybe more activity including those who have other
plans for part of the weekend.
Some statistics follow. The last hour on 40m is usually the most fun hour of
all - one hour until the torture is over and usually a decent rate at that
stage of the game. It was our best rate out of the previous 12 hours.
www.k5go.com has some pictures of the station.
Thank you for the contacts and 73 to all...Stan, K5GO
