Comments:

Roughly 150K below the US LP record. That was an exceptional effort last year by
WA1Z, which motivated my upgrade to LP after 14 straight years in SOABHP. No, it
didn't get boring but I wanted to try something different. Operating assisted is
not my thing, while LP seemed (and is) to be quite of an interesting new
challenge.

Failed to get to the record, but did get very close. What is most remarkable
about WA1Z's score, is that he did it from his small home station and not from
one of the contest super-stations like K3CR. Granted, conditions were better
last year but several tons of aluminum up in the air have never lost their
value. Maybe had I done the "iron man" again I would have gotten
above 6M but it wasn't an option this time. I had to drive back to Boston
immediately after the contest and hallucinations during the 500-mile drive are
the last thing I could wish for. Bottom line is, there is much to learn how to
do LP properly. I will keep digging in there, something eventually will come
out.

WA3FET did all of the work to get the station ready for the contest. Thanks
Jim!

Thanks to everyone who called, pulled me through the pile-up or didn't forget
their callsign!

73, Alex LZ4AX
