Comments:

1412 Qs. 67 Counties. 78 Sections. 1 DX. 5 Bonus Qs

I tried high power this year to try and erase that pesky CRA record set by N3LL
portable QRP years ago. Pesky.. because those QRP records are tough to beat!
I just barely squeaked in a new record only to find that NO3M had decided to
operate QRP this year and with his admirable skills and station pushed the bar
even higher! I doubt that I will resort to QRP next time but my station could
certainly use some improvements. One radio and cumbersome band-changing is old
school (so am I) so thats probably the place to start.
I had over 1000 Qs the first day but found Sunday to be a real slog. I only
saw a few comments but band noise was unusually high here..remnants of the
recent storm I guess.
I used spotting this year and snagged all 67 (just barely) but its not as fun
as
winging it. I also self spotted but saw no real advantage to it and wouldnt
bother again. I still cant click and QSY to spots due to station design so
thats another big room for improvement.
Thanks to all the mobiles and rovers...especially W3CG, N2CU and W3WPA!
Lets push for more 160 meter action at 0300Z. Years ago there was much more.
