Comments:

With some last-minute change in plans, Will offered his station to Lars, KE1J
and myself to come over for the weekend. Despite lots on Pam (K6NDV) and
Will's agenda, they graciously offered to host us for the weekend. One problem
though -- Will was a radio short as he offered it to the 4U70UN operation!
That was solved by bringing two K3s to his place, and setting up before the
contest. We switch from WinTest to N1MM, as Lars and I were more comfortable
with it.

We had a blast operating from Wills station! Conditions were much better than
expected, and 10 meters was a big surprise. Velimer, K3JO did a great job in
the overnight on 160 despite marginal to poor conditions. Lars, KE1J and I
went with a strategy that had worked well for us in the past -- he was the mult
guy and I concentrated on running. Will filled in in-between a 100 things he
was doing over the weekend, and provided some much needed relief.

Will has a superbly engineered station on a not-very-big lot. The 80 and 160
wire 4-Squares did their magic, and the single C31xr and home-brew 2L 40
performed above and beyond the call. Will had a single C31, fixed on Europe,
on a 20ft pole in the woods as our multiplier antenna.

Our stealth operator was Pam, K6NDV, who made some delicious food -- it kept
our butts in the chair with a full belly.

All in all, a fun time for a bunch of CW ops doing SSB. Thanks Will and Pam
for being perfect hosts! Great job by K8AZ and NV9L teams, keeping it real!

73, Gerry W1VE
