Comments:
It was a fun contest in spite of the challenges. The station was all cued up at
17:50z when the power went out. Two hours later I finally get to start, but had
issues getting everything primed again. I really like the assistance as it
provided a method for gaining another contact when times were slow. Especially
nice to work meteor scatter without having to set up skeds ahead of time.
I know some have commented on poor response on reflectors; seems that's because
many are busy making contacts and not constantly on the reflector, which is a
good thing. My belief is that we need to do much more spotting; using the DX
cluster in association with the logger. Makes for much easier contacts.
Conditions were especially down this weekend, as opposed to the weekend before
when two meters was greatly enhanced. Thanks to those rovers who ventured
out, seems like their numbers are getting smaller and smaller.
On to the January Contest, it will take a while for the best methods of
assistance to find their prime. Use the cluster; spot your findings and make
them available to the rest of the field.
