Again, what fun! So nice to hear familiar calls and to imagine smiles on
people's faces this morning.
A special highlight was hearing our dear Summer, VE5SDH, doing absolutely
fabulous in a CQ run...and getting so many calls. I couldn't help but just
stop and listen to her handle all that traffic so efficiently. Congrats,
Summer, and keep up your stellar work! You're a bright ray of 'summer'
sunshine to us on CWT!
Yeah, I know I'll never bother you top guns at the top of the scoring list, but
if pure pleasure and fun produced scores, I'd be miles ahead of everybody.
So great to hear Scotty once again giving us his brand of cheer this morning
with the 'Pope' exchange from AZ. Scotty, you knock me out!
And, my cross-town neighbor, Joe Moffatt, AB5OR, is sporting a brand new Spider
Beam up 50', so while I was no competition to him previously with his wire
antennas, I'm totally out of his class now! But, come on, fellas...y'all just
HAVE to start either ignoring Joe or else get right next to his frequency and
give him all sorts of QRM! Turn on your amps and run him off his freq and make
hum jog up and down the bands to find a clear spot. He works 3-4 QSOs to my 1
under ordinary circumstances...and now, with all that aluminum in the air, he
could fill a logbook page while I'm trying to get some other stations just to
pick my puny signal out of the mud...and then, there's the difficulty with
people trying to interpret my long call sign. Oh, woe is me! (Don't you feel
sorry for this pitiful ole Mississippi antique?)
Thanks, everyone, for another fun outing this morning. You 'done good'!
73,
