Comments:
Why i'm submittig my score as assisted?
In my mind this operation was 100% unassisted,
No DXC was used and no one did help on any way to work any single QSO!
So why?
Chris 9A5K on my request (it was not our idea i saw it on other contest
station
but it was not implemented into logging software) implemented new feature into
DX-log (www.dxlog.net).
It's possible to monitor up to 10 station ( your choosen competitors ) and
their band changes! This information was exctracted from the DX Cluster but
doesn't
shows the freq and spotter of competitor.
Only information provided is like callsign, band and time!
For example "E7DX 15m 16:44 UTC"
We even think about to generate as well this information from
www.cqcontest.net
On line contest server, same information is visible from there as well.
After there were some critical voices (OH6KZP, CT1ILT, N2IC, HA1AG.....) i did
another step and asked contest organizer what they think about it....
Answer i recvd:
" Your approach seems similar to Reverse Beacon Network in that a station
can find out what bands are open from nearby stations. Use of RBN is
specifically banned by CQ WW and CQ WPX.
With your technique, an operator does not need to monitor other bands
to find out when they are open.
I do not like this feature for Single Operator Unassisted stations.
Terry N4TZ, CQ WPX Contest Director"
What else to do as to summit the log as assisted?!
But let me make few comments on this!
Today if i want to see is some band is open, operating SO2R and using
band scope it gonna take me like max 5 seconds to see if band is open or not.
Bandscopes are not forbiden....so what's the problem?
btw way if i monitor ES5TV from E7, and looking into his band changes
it's usless info because most of the time we have differnet propagation!
And Tonno is always right competitor wvwn he sufferd in this one on luck of the
condtions!
And i'm sure there was a bunch of guys posting and watching (more of them only
watching)
on www.cqcontest.net could see same information on other screen and not in
their contest loggers!
Maybe they should reconsider their entery class :) Kim ? ;)
Btw WPX is typical running contest and there is not much help using DXC or not
and assisted and unassisted category are in this one very very close !
However
It's look like there is new EU record SOABHP (Ass) is simling into my face
and maybe even 1st place WW ..... i can be happy!
As well my friend Dave 9A77A (9A1UN) will be very happy to gain 950 points
for WRTC qualifications!
I think some "low power competitors" (let me just calling like that,
are they realy LP?) will be not quite happy about it!
Btw it was nice race with him during the whole contest, well done mate!
Contest it self was funny, i suffered 2-3 times
one on satrday fighting and loosing the freq on 15m during the best opening to
US (Amir 4X6TT aka 4X7T sorry, band condx just changed and you were not
hearable before)
during this time Dave 9A77A could generate almost 1 mil points more as my self!
On sonday i was a bit "out" and could find and keep the freq on 20m,
so i went
into S&P mode for while with a bit slower rate.
And did some stranges early QSYs to low bands on sonday (dont ask me
why....hi)!
I was compering my score with actucal EU rekord and my score from 2011 (which
is just few 100k below the EU record)
and during the first day i was even better or just a bit behind,
generating those few failures from above distance to unassisted record was
bigger and bigger !
There were few realy strooooong signals during the contest
RG6G on 20m during the TX-ing my meter was not mooving under max
CN2AA on 15m mooving the neadle to the end
4X7T almost same like CN2AA
5E5E amazing strong on 80/40/20
Big QRM made 2nd Radio QSOs very hard!
Station was working nice without any single problem and finaly
more or les everything is running like has to be ( now i can say we did
recoverd all troubles after the flooding in 2014)!
No realy high rates during this one
Best 60min 210 QSO's
Best 120min 400 QSO's
only 4 hours with rates below 100 (about 90 QSOs/h)
More as 300 QSO's with 2nd radio
didnt count and CBS and SH5 are not showing right nummbers!
Some more statistic you can see below!
And i need to say thanks to 9A5K autor of www.DXlog.net (best contest software
ever) and my good friend
for his support and beeing always ready to do all those "stupid"
features i wish!
