Comments:

First, a big thank you to all the stations who patiently hung in there to pull
my weak Qrp signal out of the noise to make the contact. It is almost like
running Qrpp, as my antenna is only 35 high at the feed point. It is a
shortened half sloper (67' long), and slopes down to 2 feet off the ground.

It was a last minute decision to run Qrp. Signals were strong and plentiful
when I got on the air at 6pm local time. I told myself if I wasn't struggling
too bad at making contacts with only 5 watts, I would stay at it. Contacts kept
coming, so I stuck with it!

Conditions were definitely better Friday night than Saturday. I was surprised
that I was not able to work the few CA stations I was hearing both nights. I
was able to work OR, WWA, and EWA, which are usually harder for me than CA.
But, that's the mystery of 160!

Looking forward to the Stew Perry in a couple weeks. I may run QRp for that one
as well.

73 Gene, N9TF

Operating conditions: K3S/P3 set to 5 watts, to a W8AMZ short half sloper at
35'.
