Comments:
Many thanks to George for not just letting me borrow his station
for the weekend, but also helping make sure everything was
working well. This was only my second contest this year, and my
first time operating a non-ARDF radio since the ARRL June VHF
Contest. It took me an hour or more to stop trying to say EM00 for
my exchange.
This is the 16th consecutive ARRL 10 Meter Contest that I've
operated from K5TR, and it's the first in which I've failed to
make 1000 contacts. I feel badly about that. We had some
decent Eskip on Saturday morning and I was able to get the
rate meter up to 300/hr for a brief time, but it just did not
last. I even experienced a legitimate 0 hour in the 0000 hour
Saturday evening. There were no good openings at all on Sunday,
but surprisingly two European stations came through when the
band seemed basically closed.
I worked every DX multiplier I heard.
