Club: Tartu Contest Team

Comments:

We had very nice contest here, despite the moderate propagation and local
thunderstorm in Sunday. After some brainstorming we concluded that IARU HF
Championship is a very good contest to demonstrate radio contesting to
enthusiastic young people - simple rules and exchange and not too long
definitely help to concentrate on making QSOs. Our small club station, equipped
plain Kenwood TS-2000 rig and tribander + 40m dipole antenna, did fine job under
the propagation we experienced and pulled out contacts not too easily, neither
was it not too tough to get through pile-ups. So our novice YL operator made
about 15% of total QSOs and was in the end quite excited about her personal
result :-)
