Comments:

Group MM effort for the WPXCW did not work as planned, due to the antenna
repairs being delayed by bad weather in VA. 20M antenna required some serious
attention and with 20M tower being down couple days before the contest,
internet was down as well-so no remote.
Mike, W4AAW, with help of friends - K0ZR and N4PD, managed to get repairs done
by about mid contest on Saturday.
I have asked Mike if I can run solo and test SO2R setup for the first time.
Was glad to hear "Yes" from him, quickly connected and went into my
first SO2R remote contest.
Station worked perfectly, however no battle tested WiFi bridge I have created
at home with pair of WRT54 modems and DD-WRT FW did not. Speed and ping during
initial testing appeared to be okay, but under weekend load ping has increased
along with packet loss and I have experienced audio drop outs, pops and other
issues with my home setup. One radio with GUI interface had no issues at all
and my K-3 setup did. Spent some time during the contest troubleshooting issue
and I think fix is coming up very soon.I expect no issues in the future.
I would like to specially thank Mike-W4AAW, Jeff, K0ZM and Paul N4PD for the
repairs and station up keeping as well as people who helped me out during
initial setup: Rick-N1RM and John-K3TN.
Well done - W4AAW crew!!! I think few important milestones were achieved with
totally remote contesting and more is coming!

page and June 2016 CQ Magazine.

73 and thanks for all QSOs!
Alex, KU1CW/7 remote to VA.
