Mult total includes the 8 grids from which we operated.
WOW, 6M was HOT! We run a Par Omni and were able to work the EA8 along with the
Canadians from the Maritimes. What a treat. The best action was working 33
stations on CW during a 35 minute drive heading to our spot in FN23 on Sunday
morning. The Omni was key as the stations were coming from all directions and
if we had a beam we cannot rotate while driving.
I'm sure there will be some whopper scores from the rovers that spent more time
in the chair. We simply spent too much time visiting at the Cold Brook Contest
Club HQ and enjoying some great meals, not to mention a serious, and too long,
slumber in the Southern Adirondacks.
Another highlight was the rover dinner in Leroy, NY on Sunday. Six rovers join
in (K2TER, KF2MR, N8KH, W2HRY, K2LDT, . I'v heard that this was typical of
"back in the day" but maybe we are creating a NEW "back in the
day". Let's hope! I thing all the kudos go to KF2MR/R and K2TER/R.
Lastly, Murphy struck before the contest. He infused the XV432 with demons that
have now rendered it a no go. It'll be on the usual sale sites as a
project/parts transverter. Hopefully we'll find a solution to 432 before
September, otherwise I'll have to attend a wedding that weekend instead of
going for US/VE Limited Rover #1 overall number six :-)
