Comments:

This contest was super fun only a scant 3-4 yrs ago when the Russians were
piling through here like a ton of bricks 30-40dB/S9 on 10m and down.

Now, not so much.

10m was a wasteland. I did hear a few Brazilians, but they couldn't hear me.
Not a drop of prop for me to EU (or anywhere else for that matter)

15m was extremely disappointing. Wish there were more BIG multi-multi's in
this contest as there always seemed to be a couple 9A's and DL's coming
through, but little else. SIGH...Goodbye solar cycle....I knew you well

20m was a true slog....Most of the time it was open (did I use the word
"open"?....barely perceptible might be a better
description)....anyways, most of the time it was (ahem) OPEN, all the EU's were
aimed at Russia, so it was hard (for me) to be heard. Running was nearly out of
the question except for right at the very pinnacle of the opening, which was
likely around mid afternoon local time, dark in EU when they went to 40m.

40m. For a short time, just before and after SS here, condx were quiet, signals
were good, a lot of EU's had either put on their headphones and could hear me
and hopefully already worked the louder Russians. Perhaps an hour of a really
nice contest experience.

80m. About an hour after SS, signals were "meh" (so so) and QRN was
not too bad.

160m. I could hear the really big EU's but no Q's except to W/VE

Near local midnight my cold got the better of me, so I set my alarm for EU
sunrise and snoozed right through it. Oh well !

20m in the morning brought a surprise smattering of UA9/UA0/JA and JT1CO !
which had me stoked, but it was very shortlived (20 mins?)

15m showed promise and finally got 5 Oblasts and a couple dozen rare EU mults,
but signals were only beginning to happen and the contest didn't last long
enough for them to peak up.

Did I have a good time? Why lie. No I did not. I wish I could've worked 500
more Russians with those huge signals like I remember from not very long ago.

Thanks to the Russians for coming out. Maybe the solar flares will stay home
next time, hi !
