I totally agree with Randy, ND0C's comment that you don't have to be crazy to
operate QRP in SS Phone but it helps. Usually in this contest you will make a
decent run or two as a Q operator but that was not the case this year. When
you are lucky to have a rate of 10 an hour (or less) after Noon on Sunday, you
certainly call into question your sanity in hanging around but that ties into
my first comment above. Strange condx with 40 and 80 going long and everyone
crammed together on 20 during the day. Thank you to those very patient and
skilled operators pulling me out with multiple fills and those that gave me FB
signal reports. KS and MS eluded me until the late stages of the test and the
highlight for me was working MS late early in the evening on 20 on very short
skip (too long for ground wave). Never heard a KP4, NL and only hear QC as
S&P. Look forward to next year's SS tests ... 73 ... Ken, N5EE
