FROM THE MULTI TWO STATION OF W3W

DATELINE: CQWW CW CONTEST 2016

WE HAD SIX CONTESTERS WHICH INCLUDED TWO NEW CONTESTERS,

THREE HARD CORE CW OPS AND A HARD CORE SSB OP

WHO IS REDISCOVERING THE JOYS OF CW CONTESTING.

MURPHY VISITED US EARLY IN THE CONTEST.

THE RING GEAR IN THE UPPER 20 METER ROTOR WAS APPARENTLY DAMAGED

BY THE HIGH WINDS LAST WEEKEND DURING THE ARRL SS-SSB CONTEST.

THE UPPER 20 METER BEAM WAS STUCK IN THE WESTERN DIRECTION

FOR MOST OF FIRST EVENING OF THE CONTEST.

PROBLEMS ALWAYS BECOME APPARENT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FIRST NIGHT.

WITH THE HELP OF A LITTLE WIND SATURDAY MORNING THE BEAM WAS SUCCESSFULLY
ROTATED

TO NORTH EAST FOR THE EUROPEAN RUNS. IT WORKED VERY WELL FIXED IN THAT
POSITION

FOR THE REST OF THE CONTEST.

THERE WAS NO OTHER EQUIPMENT OR OPERATOR MALFUNCTIONS FOR THE REST OF THE
CONTEST.

WE HAD GOOD RUNS ON 15, 20 AND 40 METERS

THEN IT WAS ALL CAPPED OFF WITH A NICE 10 METER OPENING DURING THE CONTEST.

THE THANKSGIVING FEAST OF LEFTOVERS WAS AN EXCELLENT MENU FOR ALL TO ENJOY.

WE ALL ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO THE NEXT CONTEST.
