Comments:
My forty-five M/S appearing in CQWW as OK5W at OK1KSO. At that time I do not
remember such a bad propagation conditions. Comparison with the CW part of the
contest the propagation conditions were a little better on 40 meters only. Like
every year, high mountain nature turned again against to us. Several days before
the contest, we lost the 35 meters wooden pole, which we use for the 80 meters 5
el. sloper system due the strong wind. We hurriedly had to make temporary
antennas which of course were not so good. Each year always again and again in
the spring we begin repairing antennas what the winter and icing destroyed.
http://ok1cf.rajce.idnes.cz/OK5W_CQWWCW_2014/. We envied stations located to
the south of us their better opening towards the USA. We are a group of old
HAMs enjoying old style of contesting for fun only and are not supporters of
the new trends and technologies that are becoming increasingly popular as
in-band station etc. So our result corresponds what we can build as a maximum
large of antennas in our mountain QTH the nature did not destroy and the state
of our technical equipment. Despite all of our problems we are already looking
forward to next year of this nice contest and our congratulations to all
winners.
