Comments:

The above score includes 29000 bonus points for activating 29 counties and 500
bonus points for working NO5W in 5 different counties.

My score is down quite a bit from last year. I think there are a number of
reasons including band conditions, covering fewer counties thus operating fewer
hours, and thunderstorms Saturday afternoon. By design I finished up about 7 pm
on Saturday just in time for the Texas A&M vs Arkansas game. I enjoyed the
relaxed Saturday finish and the game! Plus with the area thunderstorms trying
to operate 40m and 80m in the evening would have been a challenge.

One new addition to my mobile station is an Android tablet running Locus Pro
map program. It allowed me to import a KML file of my route from Google Maps
and provide turn by turn voice guided navigation. It uses offline maps and
navigation calculations. It really helped keep us on track.

Mobile station equipment: Elecraft K3, Scorpion SA-680 antenna, Dell Latitude
D630 running CQ/X logging software, Ford F250 antenna support.

As always, a big thanks for my wife, K5AKS, for driving both days!
