Comments:
A week ago I was excited and intending to put in a full effort here, but ...
conditions were not the same at all. I had a very tough time being heard and
at least one of my antennas wasn't working right, so I spent an hour debugging
the connections and found I had accidentally connected the autotuner backwards.
No wonder the little lights weren't doing their usual stuff! After that,
conditions were still not good, and I went upstairs and ended up never getting
back.
I hope the conditions improved and expect everybody had a good time, as I did
when things were working well. Still, I get discouraged by only being heard by
one out of every 8 or 10 stations I call. I have a lot of experience in that
environment, and maximizing QRP score in poor condx, but I just got
discouraged. Before the contest I did add a couple of more radials to the
multiband wire vertical, but it will take more time and a bit of testing to see
if it is coming into its own yet.
I expect to be in the ARRL Int. DX tests, and hope to put you all in my log
then. 73 and thanks for pulling me out of the noise (all 16 of you who heard
me. Best reception to all - Tim
