Comments:
Great weekend! Everything worked well and only one equipment failure (AL-1500
amp QSK board and capacitor bank...swapped an AL-1200 in and kept going).
Congrats again to W2FU on another great score from western NY and to K8AZ for
jumping into the M/2 fray with a great score from Ohio. We definitely enjoy a
geographic advantage over those stations on most bands and they are to be
congratulated for their efforts.
We welcomed a new team member for the weekend - Ira, WA2OAX...who loved the
multi-op immersion program and all the craziness. Ira did a great job. We were
also extremely pleased to again have Hiro JJ5GMJ, who again did a super job!
Skill and persistence pay off. And special thanks to Craig K1QX and Ed K1TR for
putting many hours in the chairs on Saturday!
15m propagation was down from the CQWW SSB weekend...disappointing but we made
the best of available propagation. 160m was a struggle due to absorption and
only occasional workable openings. 40m and 20m were great, as expected - those
bands are the main
"money bands" during this part of the solar cycle. 80m was pretty
good most of the weekend and W1FV and others milked it for all it was worth -
with a score rivaling the 15m score! 10m was terrible!
Caught some very cool longpath and grayline openings on a variety of
bands...always exciting to work the long-haul DX! It is part of what makes this
contest so fun.
A super fun time was had by all. Thanks to Matt and Juana for their
hospitality!
Thanks to everyone who got on this weekend and special thanks to those who
traveled far and wide to put some great mults on! Thanks for all the Q's!
