Comments:

Thank you to Don AA5AU and Ed W0YK for hosting the FT8 Roundup. Was looking
forward to seeing how the mode would hold up in a contest environment.

Rate could be acceptably quick, but too many stations are not quite ready for
optimal QSO cycling. Those who get it made things nice and brisk. Those who
don't get it made it a plodding exercise.

This is a good entry-level contest that might give some digital operators a
taste of contesting. I suspect FT8 may be a bit unsuited to a satisfying contest
experience, but the more people who try it may end up liking it and join in the
other modes where even more fun can be had!
