Comments:

I almost didn't make it to the station due to heavy falling snow and icy roads
which required 4 wheel drive (which I don't have) but thankfully K2TTT came out
in the snow and rescued me when my car wouldn't go any further.

First contact was just after 02z Sunday. Low bands where in great shape
especially 160 where I just have an Inverted V.

80/40 where very runnable all night but seemed like much less activity than
CQWW. Crazy pileup on 40 from 7z-10z when things slowed down a bit. 20 was not
great here and something caused the pl259 to arc at the switch on the tower
which I discovered after walking through the foot of fresh snow to check on what
was up so most of the 20m contacts where made using a C3 fixed towards the
Caribbean at 30feet....impressive to work JA, UA0, AH2R, VK, ZL, Europe and
Africa all with the beam low and pointing the wrong way!

15 was crummy with some small skew path opening to EU but a big disappointment
and 10 was better than expected with all the signals peaking at about
150degrees...the loudest being TI7W....ended up with about 7 six banders...3 of
them P4s

Since I didn't have 20 I moved to 40 early (3 hours before sunset) and was able
to run EU from 19z to about 21:30z when I went to chase some mults and look for
Qs on 80....managed to find 17 mults in the last 2.5 hours so not bad.

Once I hit a meg and 1000qs the biggest motivator was the Live scoreboard.
Starting the contest on day 2 it is always fun to watch my standing on
http://cqcontest.net/view/readscore.php and try to catch up with my friends. My
first mark was N2WK who I wasn't sure I would catch but I did and then I had my
eyes on fellow FRCers K3PA, K2XR, W3KB, and K3WJV....They really kept me
motivated until the end...especially when I kept trading places with K2XR over
the last hour and we ended the contest with nearly identical scores!

Thankfully my car was ok where I left it and the snow melted before I got back.

Thank you to my host K2TTT and his wife Judy...I always have a nice time and
they make me feel at home. This contest would not have happened if it weren't
for AA1K and K2NG fixing the 40meter beam in frigid temperatures in
January....hopefully the 20 meter beam will be an easy fix....
