Wooow, what a contest it was. It supposed to be holiday style operation with
only TS480SAT on the desk, but after first day it turned to the hard contesting.
Totaly a new experience for me. Result could be even better (I should have
refused the saturday trip round the island with my xyl...but xyl...hee). Was
told later that I have missed some good openings on 15m, or even there were some
condx on 10m too. Anyway I was able to work quite a few QSO on 15 and only few
on 10m. 20m pile up was amazing after, till the night. Sunday condx were worse
on 10 and 15m, but on 20m were UFB. For me it was just like on computer contest
simulator. Clear freq, all sigs well over S9, almost no QRM, nice rates, FB
behaviour from the guys calling in the pile up...simply contesters dream.
The set-up here at EA8DO contest site performed really well. Location and salt
water round the La Palma island (Isla la Bonita) helps quite a lot.
Thanks Manolo EA8DO for alowing me to use the station. Hope to be back sometimes
for more pile ups.
