My first NAQP CW, and my first CW contest unassisted.  I do "OK" in CW

contests when I can see the spotted station and exchange beforehand, 
but not so well when I have to hear it and copy it.  I averaged about 
15 Qs/hour or 4 minutes a Q:  tune up to find a caller, listen a number 
of times to get the call, again a number of times to get the name and 
state.  I do think it was taking me about half the time by the end of 
the contest -- the only way to improve is to just do it!

Not having touch-typing ability is also a barrier as I have two mental 
links to be made: ear to brain (and translate the letter) and then brain 
to fingers (and find the keyboard key.)  Sometimes I think learning to 
type would be a far better investment of time for contesting overall 
than learning how to hear CW!  (Not typing is a problem for running 
in general.)

But it was fun, and both 80 and 160 were full at night.  I finally 
was just too tired by 11:30 to keep going, even with taking ample 
breaks plus watching most of the game.
