Comments:

I haven't run a VHF contest in many years, since I took down my 432 and 1296
antennas in about 2003. Contest is much different today, but curiously a few of
the same familiar callsigns. Doesn't seem to be as much activity and of course,
FT8 has taken over. On 6 meters I ran a G5RV the first day and worked only
locals. On the second day, I built a 3-element yagi that used to belong to Hank,
K8DD, and mounted it on my deck only about 8' off the ground. WOW! 6 meters came
to life! Wish I could have spent more time on 6 on Sunday but I had other
commitments. All in all, great fun and now I have been bitten by the 6 meter
bug. Not much desire to resurrect the 432 or 1296 gear unless I go portable.
