Comments:

As the Nor’easter Winds swept through Maryland this weekend by the grace of
God we did not loose power or have any antennas damage. The propagation was a
disappointment as compared to last year with minimal Q’s on 10 and 160. 15
meters did not stay open as long as last year either and we actually ran out of
stations to work on 40 and 80 for the first time ever. However our distress was
lessened when we realized our big gun stations were not getting replies to their
CQ’s either. The noise level was definitely elevated during the high winds
plus we left the antennas stationary in a safe position which was not always in
a favorable direction for the stations we were working. It was a frightening
and enjoyable experience with a sense of relief as we were making Q’s with
antennas that were still in the air. The food was excellent and after the Gail
force winds had died down we all realize what a good we actually had.

Special thanks go to PJ4G, P40L, and 8P5A for the sweep on all 6 bands. We had
four stations that we worked on 5 bands but missed us on 160M and four other
stations that we worked on 5 bands but missed us on 10M. In addition there were
19 stations that were worked on 4 bands and 35 stations that were worked on 3
bands. We thank all those who contacted us and look forward to the next
contest.

73’s from the WA3EKL contest team
