Comments:

Conditions a little better than last year but not by much! Tough going. All
stations down in signal strength compared to good condx. especially those from
the mid-west and west coast areas.

1st night highlights : the first CA station was W6WB at 0402z (quite late) and
two others later. Delighted to contact VY1AAA at 0542 as a new one on 80m - tnx
OM. Managed two stations from AB and three from WA but only two from AZ.
Stopped on the first night at 0719 (relatively early). Ended with 438 qsos
(with dupes) and 46 mult.

2nd night : the first station to be heard was K3LR (good 56 signal at 2120).
Great to hear KK6ZM (Pat in CA) at 0137 and delighted to contact VO2NS. Unlike
other reports I thought condx. on this second night were slightly worse but it
may have been lack of activity. Good to contact K2PO (OR), N5CR (WA) and VE6BBP
(AB). Ended with 379 more qsos (inc. dupes) and 5 more mult.

3rd night : Furthest west before end of contest was IL at about 30mins before
their SST. This compares to maybe 1.5 hrs in good condx. Great to contact
FP5AC/M. No more mults though.

I must get ears syringed for next year.

Well done to F1AKK who did far fewer hours than me.

Rig : FT990 with Acom amp.
Ant. : 6 el. vertical array near ocean

Great fun again. Thanks for all the qsos and hope to see you next year.
73, Rick GM3PPG
