Comments:
Not a big score for time spent in the chair. Conditions were tough for a low
power station. Tried several times Saturday night to get a run going on 40m and
then 80, but would either get bumped off my call frequency or would call in vein
with few or no answers. Stuck it out and S&Pd, waiting in line most times
for a contact.
Had a couple short runs on 40 and 80 Sunday. Didn't get spotted until late in
the afternoon, finally, which gave me a little more of a trickle of stations to
work.
I even set up 3Khz away from K9CT and ND9G once, and called in hopes to work a
station or two tuning away after working them. That ended up a bust as well!
Couldn't make it a FT effort on Sunday as I had a few holiday chores to take
care of.
Missed a sweep by one, NL. Got in line for VO1KVT on 20m early afternoon Sunday.
Propagation wasn't favoring the Midwest at that time. Although he was S9 with
me, he was hearing the west coast the best with strong east coast getting in as
well. The pile was thick! I hung in for the 20 minutes he was qrv when I ran
across him, and then he took a break, and as far as I know, he never came back.
Noticed lots of VA and MDC, all over the place. Hoping we countered their
presence.
