Comments:

Thanks to Patrick VK2PN for joining me at VK3JA to operate Multi-Two for the
first time in this event. One of the best contest weekends we can recall.

With the relative poor sunspot number the bands were surprisingly good with very
low noise. Ten meters was open very strongly here for trans-equitorial Q's with
JA and eastern Asia during all afternoon hours. 15 meters was a major success
with long after darkness good prop to EU and in the morning hours satisfactory
prop to NA to our east. We were very happy to achieve over 1000 Q's on that
great band. 20 meters was very good staying open until after midnight into EU
but our VK usual 20M morning LP openings to NA did not happen at all this time.
40 Meters was a blockbuster to EU for us in late night and early morning and
many good calls to NA and Asia in our early evening. On 40M when open to EU the
EU Zoo was in full swing with too many stations calling endlessly. This causes
rates to drop often to one per minute or even less due to the over calling of
other stations who would not QRX. Also the "?" callers always delay
everything because of their impatience interrupting a good signal exchange with
weak signals. 80 meters was essentially neglected on our station due to
mediocre antennas and no point advantages to spending long times on that band.

Thank you to all who called and especially those who politely QRX during weak
signal exchanges. We celebrated many times with good DXCC surprises and many
scoring milestones during the weekend.

Vy 73 to you all and Patrick and I hope you enjoyed this contest as much as we
have.

73 Steve VK3JA and Patrick VK2PN

Patrick's VK2PN comments:

First thanks Steve and XYL for their hospitality. We BOYS and the
"girls" had fun too.

I'd like to endorse Steve's comments. The EU "pressure" made the rate
about half of the potential. It was unbelievable for the bottom of the cycle.
Thanks all for the calls. Been great experience.

Patrick VK2PN
