Comments:
I did not intend to spend so much time on the air this weekend but I got some
help from the XYL watching the harmonics so I was able to play. This is not my
best score in this contest but it is not too bad for being at the bottom of ol
sol. Very happy with the effort and performance of my meager station. I got
the 80/40 meter Windom dipole up another ten feet in the tree and that seemed to
help a bit though still need a 160/80 solution on my tiny lot. I still have
work to do. My tribander which is currently not flat but about 2/3 vertical at
the moment and fixed to EU seemed to work much better than expected! My
favorite moment came when tuning I found UP0L at about 2335 Sunday night and
worked him and then spotted him so he could have a pileup. Wow was it a pile!
Worked a 9X which was nice and many ZS and 5Z as well as ZL, VK, JA, 5W among
others. That is always fun from my tiny station. Glad to be able to add some
points to the FRC coffers. This is it for me for 2018 and with a little more
FT8 I will have over 12K contacts to make this my most radioactive year. My
main reason for getting on the air more was to honor my friend K3LP David
Collingham who passed away in January. I thought this would be a good way to
honor his memory. Until ARRL CW 73 and see you down the log. 73 de K3HW ..
