Comments:

Static from a local thunderstorm on the Friday before the contest blew up my
FT-2000 front-end pre-amps, so I was operating with what seemed like 20 or 25dB
of attenuation in for the whole contest. This was not an issue on 80m but on 15m
is certainly was! Nothing heard from Scandinavia on 10m and QRN from the
thunderstorms made reception difficult on 40m and especially 80m. Conditions
seemed poor on the low bands: early Sunday morning I was seeing spots for what 
would have been mults on 40m that I could not hear - even OH8X! It is always
good to work old and new friends in SAC and I will be back next year - let's
hope for better propagation then. Rig: Yaesu FT-2000 to Acom 1500 amp at 1kW to
Spiderbeam at 11m for 15 and 20m, 40m elevated vertical and dipole at 17m high,
80m quarter-wave vertical.
