HFT-1500 Manual Tuner,and a ZS6BKW modified G5RV up 50 feet,running N-S at an
elevation of 6,053 feet from DN-71 in Laramie County Wyoming. The lack of
participants in this event and poor band conditions made it difficult to stay in
the chair. It was nice to work friend and fellow GMCCer Bill,K0UK on 40 and 80
meters, but I honestly was more challenged by the other state level QSO Parties
that overlapped this event. This venue desperately needs to be reevaluated, and
either taken over by a larger and more experienced contesting Club,or
incorporated into a "Rocky Mountain State" (or similar) contest that
is NOT held on a major US holiday weekend. The fact that I won the 1st Place Out
Of State-Low Power-Single Op- Single Transmitter Plaque in 2014 using a low
height G5RV tells you all you need to know about this "gasping for it's
last breath" contest. November Seven Many Zebras Walking
