Club: Michigan State University ARC

Comments:

Following graduation of key club members and an effort by the faculty advisor
and alumni group, the club recruited over a dozen new members this school year
who are now licensed, some as General Class. This year's MIQP was run less as an
all-out competitive effort against our rival (W8UM) but more as a training and
inspirational exercise. Except for an hour when one of the alumni demonstrated
contest techniques and run rates, the entire contest was run by these new hams
(the first five calls above). As the day progressed, the excitement level rose
with the score building and multipliers multiplying. By midnight everyone was
exhausted but we now have five new avid contesters! If you worked us, you've
helped to inspire the next generation of Radio Sport. We will have to hand our
Ol' Michigan Log trophy to our "little sister" school for a year but
