Comments:
Nice quiet 40/80m conditions with very little thunderstorm QRN here, plus low
K-index = good low band propagation. Excellent ears by many Eu IOTA 'big guns',
much appreciated! Was a Run as well as S&P operation to add QSOs but also
work the big 15-point island stations. Appears to be best 12 hour/single mode
(CW) effort points-wise for me from this QTH (NA-031, Aquidneck Is.) since I
started doing IOTA Contest in 2010.
Had hoped for some (a little?!) 15m propagation to Europe but there was
practically none (only VY2 and CR5 were worked). A very brief 10m opening
netted just CR5. This situation not likely to improve for next few years
unfortunately, ugghhh.
Always a fun time, especially after 1700z, when Europe starts hearing/needing to
work NA/other continent stations outside of Eu.
59 Unique IOTAs worked... AS: 1, EU: 42, NA: 13, OC: 3. Got 140 15-point QSOs =
42% (all-time high % for me). Results filtering/award recognition **by
continent** would likely boost island participation OUTSIDE OF EUROPE where it
is certainly needed ... please consider this RSGB! [My annual IOTA Contest
suggestion for improvement *again*]. Posting of event records by category and
continent would be appreciated too!
I missed the last hour plus due to oversleeping... not sure I will thus survive
the 300k point mark after log checking!
QSL via Clublog and LoTW PLEASE. Thanks for the QSOs!! 73, W1WBB Bill
