Comments:
Another WPX is in the books. Thank you to the DX Engineering staff for some last
minute products and services on Friday. Still working the kinks out on the new
beam and triplexer. Had some interference in the shack between bands, something
we haven't had a problem with for a number of years. Always more tweeks to do.
80/40: Felt like a really slow start on Friday night. Saturday was more of a
grind, rates were a bit slower than we would have preferred. Decode seemed
rougher than in the past. The stations that continue to only send their serial
1 time when you've asked multiple times on for a repeat continue to perplex us.
The attempt at saving a few seconds is lost when the entire exchange needs to
happen 2 or 3 times. Pulled the loop back up to 80 feet Saturday morning once
the winds died down. That seemed to help for Saturday and Sunday.
20: This was the majority of the daytime work, no surprise to anyone who worked
the contest.
A haiku to 15 meters:
Fifteen meters gone
We long for your returning
Multi sucks without
I think there used to be an amateur band called 10 meters, but really, who
outside of the equator remembers that far back?
Thanks to everyone we got into the log book and catch you in the next contest.
Doug (AB8M), Jay (KB8O), Jon (KM8V)
