Comments:

K3CCR is the club station at the Collington continuing-care
retirement community at FM 18OW in MD, just east of DC. N3UM and
W3GB did Multi-Op HP in the Jan. 2019 CQ WW 160 CW.

Conditions were quite good; we got 32 EU QSOs and 20 EU mults, plus
6 CA, 2 OR, and 2 WA stations. Most PVRC-ers know that in poor years
on 160 there can be few or no Qs in EU or west of the Rockies.

As we’ve done before on CW, W3GB focused on mults while N3UM in
his turn ran for lots of Qs whenever possible. Again this worked
well; W3GB got 69% of total mults, while N3UM got 61% of total Qs
and 57% of total QSO points. In our first 2 hr. Fri. W3GB got 24
St/Pv mults and 10 country mults. Got his first EU, an SP, at 2146Z.

N3UM had non-ham-radio duties but did run for 1.7 hr till 0230Z and
got 154 Qs, 15 St/Pv mults, and 1 cty. W3GB then did the late shift
0230-0703Z and got 106 Qs, 9 more cty mults, and 13 St/Pv mults.
OR, ID, and WA came in 10 min, 0646-0656Z.

Sat. PM W3GB got 3 cty mults and RI in 2.7 hr after 23Z. N3UM did
the 2nd late shift 0220-0627Z and got 180 Qs, 141 of them running,
plus 10 cty mults and our last state, AL.

We missed NE, SD, and AK but got HI. Got only 6 of 14 VE provinces.
Our final score was comparable to our 2017 claim, but ‘way behind
our great Jan. 2018 score when we got 707 QSOs and 52 countries.
