With persistent sporadic E up to 70 MHz, 
the HF bands were chopped up in pockets 
with Es or F-layer or combined paths... 
Some regions were blanked or sort of
blanketted out... For DX on 14 MHz only 
VE3EJ worked and N5AW heard steady. Short 
weak fractional flashes of W3YY and K3PP...
