Comments:

Had some interesting 'DQRM' from an American who repeatedly voiced his great
displeasure in my CQing below 7100kHz....He just wouldn't go away and made it
known that it was not fair that as a Canadian that I could be there. I am sorry
buddy, but the issue is not with me, but your own FCC. I don't QRM you when
you're running 1500w on CW and I am limited to 750W.....DQRM is not cool,
especially when I am doing nothing wrong at all. I am 100% in my legal right to
be there. Your rules are different. No my fault. I wonder if he ran up the
band QRMing the other Canadians I heard running there...VE3DZ, VE3EJ, CJ3A,
VY2ZM, VY2TT etc.

Not sure why this mattered so much to this fellow who would not ID, as I am not
your competition for any awards, plaques or standings, but I guess it takes all
kinds.

I only got on this weekend to endure a few hours of HORRID condx (made worse by
being on SSB!) to give out the semi-rare NB mult to my EU friends, not to be
hassled by folks I was not even working.

Still shaking my head over this. Whatev's as the kids say.

The other thing that was a little odd was the many empty CQ's on 20-40-80m until
I got spotted. Sometimes 5 minutes would go by and not one EU caller. Then I
got spotted. That's not the odd thing though....the odd thing was the number of
times I replied to a caller over and over and over and over and could never coax
a report from them. I strongly suspect they are just clicking on spots and
sending their calls w/o either listening or just hearing me. Signals by and
large were poor, but most of these callers were (I'm guessing) 100w guys. I was
running around 750w into a 4-square so should've been heard.....even when there
was only 1 or 2 callers, this *NEW* phenomenon occurred. At times when I was
*not* spotted and just got the odd caller who did know how to use the big know
and called me, this never happened.

It seems very few in EU turn the big knob.

Such is life.

10m-ha !

15m -The array fell over into a heap a few days ago. Used my 160m inverted L
with a respectable SWR.

20m- weak, muted.

40m- good shape (save for the DQRM) <shrugs>

80m -also good shape

160m -anyones guess. Wasn't on long enough this w/e to even listen.

CU next time (all of a sudden!)

Mike VE9AA....IC7410 and 4-squares + N1MM+
