Comments:

I am not much of a single op guy. My last serious SOAB SSB contest was 17 years
ago in this contest from W7UQ as KD7ORP. I guess I will have to extend that
streak a little longer as a 14 hour effort does not qualify as a full serious
entry.

A last minute scramble to get the remote setup in the new QTH. Everything
worked great! New internet service proved to be excellent, and I had ZERO
jitter, latency, or anything to remind me that I am in Montana, not New York.

Had to stop after about 14 hours due to family stuff, but it ended up being the
right call. This just wasn't a contest meant to be I suppose. The best part is
that the shack is now located inside the house. No more dealing with a frigid
garage in the Montana winter time. Wearing wool socks, winter boots, layers,
and heaters blasting just to operate a contest is a thing of the past.

It was great operating from the east coast again! It is very obvious that W1
and W2 should be different areas for WRTC qualifying, but of course that ship
sailed long ago. Thanks to Ray and the RHR guys for the outstanding product.
Zero configuration and trouble shooting required to be 100% ready for a full
SO2R contest in minutes. Really excited to push things hard in WPX CW again
this year. Remote technology is keeping guys like me on the air.

Look for my CTU presentation on no compromise remote contesting this year at
Dayton!

The 20m and 40m mosh pits were especially rough this year. I managed to hold a
single 20m frequency until going QRT at 1730z, but it wasn't particularly
pleasant! Really looking forward to sunspots returning. I focused 100% on DX
the first few hours. A better strategy would probably have been to go for more
USA rate when DX just wasn't working.

Great as always to say hello to friends on the air!
