Comments:

FTDX-5000D, AL-1200, 58ft top loaded vertical, 2 Beverages, DX Engineering 8
vertical receive array. Friday night we had a lot of rain. I shut down twice due
to storms. I was amazed at the opening to Europe with all the noise from the
storm. Saturday night was quieter and I had another nice opening to Europe. My
Asian opening was for 5 minutes at sunrise Saturday morning. There was no Asian
opening Sunday morning. I also did not get a good Europe opening at the end of
the contest. It was interesting testing the beverages against the DX Engineering
8 circle array. I added that antenna this summer. It was better in most cases. I
started the contest as unassisted but changed and started looking at spots to
see if I could get some new band countries. I did get 3 new band countries. I
had also repaired my vertical 2 weeks earlier. 160 antennas can be hard to keep
working.
