Comments:
Thanks to Antonello D'Asta, IT9EQO, for station setup and pre-contest hard work.
As usual now, every year, our special guest W5MX, Bryan Bydal, joined us from
Kentucky with his family, enjoying good sicilian food and vacation.
IT9CJC - Marcello Criscione joined us in remote operation from London, UK (hope
to have him back to Sicily ASAP).
IT9ESW - Giuseppe Cardinale, IZ8JAI - Domenico Panuccio and IZ8FWN - Pietro
Fiorenza, joined us from Mussomeli in Sicily and from sister region, Calabria,
with very spicy chili peppers.
IK1HJS - Carlo De Mari, "The President", joined us from wet Liguria
region bringing some big thunderstorms to this latitudes.
All these very good operators prepared themselves months before the contest.
IT9GSF - Fabio Grisafi worked for propagation study and strategy who is this
notes' writer. I am building a multiband Reverse Beacon with Beverage and single
band antennas that you can use all over the year to test prop and your signal to
southern EU. Please look for IT9GSF-# on RBN.
During sunday morning intrepid operators continued the contest while there were
very close lightning and a thunderstorm with heavy rain and noise, it was
likewise first line of WAR with bombs and missile (really!) with electricity
coming inside the station, not really a safe place where to remain in such bad
conditions.
Our location is a mountain top QTH, abt 900 m over sea level.
Beverage antennas worked well and our low band TX antennas (full 1/4 w vertical
for 160 and 4 SQ for 80) make the difference. Some improvements needed for high
bands but propagation is waiting for us.
Thanks for the QSO and enjoy us when you want, our station is open to guest
operators from all over the world as always.
