Interesting! That's about my best words for this event.
I was successful in getting FT8 setup to work; however, I just didn't figure out
the problem with getting FT4 going. I used the "Switch Configuration"
feature in WSJT-X to take advantage of the FT4 contacts. However, I repeatedly
get the error message something like, "DX Lab Suites Commander failed. You
do not have permission to use." Well, all that worked with FT8, so why not
with FT4. I know there is so much I don't understand about the tidbits of
configuration magic. The funny (not really funny, but actually confusing) thing
is that I could transmit okay, but could not get decoding to work.
Oh, well...on to the next venture.
Several interruptions on Saturday kept me from operating as much as I wished.
But, I was glad to go through the process of setting up the beauty of WSJT-X
running inside N1MM+.
Maybe the best part of operating this contest was that I had audio gain on my
Flex turned all the way down. Then, I opened a browser window to SiriusXM radio
and listened to Channel 73 -- the '40s Junction' and that great music kept my
feet tapping the entire time! Yessir!
Major congrats to two of my fellow Deep Dixie Contest Club members for
participating quite well...and for posting their scores on
ContestOnlineScore.com page so I could chase them. Our newest member, Max
George NG7M blasted away, getting 561 Qs from Utah with a score of 81,450.
Following his was young 16-year-old Mason Matrazzo, KM4SII, with 347 Qs and
claimed score of 28,000...and he's using low dipole antennas on all bands.
Super proud of these two great DDCC members.
